Full-body scan is a scan of the patient's entire body to support the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses. It may also be known as a full-body CT scan if computed tomography (CAT) technology is used, though there are many types of medical imaging technology which can perform full-body scans (see box on bottom of page). HistoryUse in preventative screeningFull body PET scan, shown in low resolution.A full-body scan can theoretically catch deadly diseases (e.g. cancer) in early stages, which can save lives. However in practice, the benefits may not outweight the risks (see sections below). Thus, controversy arises from the use of full-body scans in the screening of patients who have not been diagnosed with a disease, or who do not have symptoms suggestive of a disease,. As with any test that screens for disease, the risks of full-body CT scans need to be weighed against the benefit of identifying a treatable disease at an early stage. From Wikipedia under the

Is a full body scan before boarding a aircraft a invasion of privacy--yes or no --Why? Asked by sgnilloh - Mon Jan 4 06:01:45 2010 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. No it's not. No one is invading anyone's privacy. You know about the scans taking place before you buy your tickets. You are voluntarily subjecting yourself to the procedure. If you don't want to be scanned and you think it's invading your privacy, don't fly. There are other ways to travel (granted none are as expedient) so you do not have to be scanned if you don't want to. Answered by Patrick B - Mon Jan 4 09:37:50 2010 What does everyone think of those full body scan at airports?
Q. Scattered throughout the states and some other countries, are full body scans at airports. They can see through clothes and underwears for "security" measures. Sometimes the scans are used just as secondary check, when they find it the need to use them. But other times, it is the main check they do. They said the face is being blurred out, and the people looking at scans is not actually on your side. As muslims, what do you think of such procedures? Should we have the choice to refuse to enter such body scans? I personally never been to an airport, but just wondering. I think it's awefully wrong to scan the body in such a way... Give me your opinion!!! Well nothing to hide ... i have my body i want to hide! That's the reason I wear… [cont.] Asked by M l - Thu Dec 31 11:52:36 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. I don't like the fact that some strange man could be looking at me, even if it is just for "security" reason. But I don't like a full body pat down either even if by a women. I guess I can understand their concern and they are doing what they have to do, so I have no choice but to deal with it if I am going to fly.
